Welcome to Boroondara Park Primary School. We work in partnership with you to provide the best possible education for your child.
The school’s priority is to develop the whole child academically, culturally, emotionally, physically and socially within a caring and supportive environment. While catering for all ability levels, staff focus is on maximising achievement for every student in English and Mathematics.

All four of our kids attended Boroondara Park Primary – or Boondy, as we know it. Here’s what stood out:
The community is strong. You feel it straight away – parents are involved, teachers are open, and everyone chips in. There’s a genuine kindness and care that runs through the place.
Kids are seen as people. There’s a real focus on wellbeing, confidence and curiosity – not just scores. Kindness and love aren’t buzzwords here. Nearly every week I hear about a student or family doing it tough, and what the school or students are doing to support them.
Teachers who want to teach. They’re thoughtfully matched to kids and they take that seriously. I still remember the few old-school teachers who made a mark on me – decades later, I wish they knew how much they shaped my life. Mr Stirling – as you know I wouldn’t have made it to law school if you hadn’t made economics and history so interesting. Boondy’s full of Stirling types. My kids still talk about Ms Poor, Ms Tainsch, Mr Wickham, Mr Mulder, Mr Reg… I could keep going.
Deep ties to the place. I’ve met well over 100 parents and staff who went to Boondy as kids. That says something.
The area’s shifting, but I really hope the Boondy secret sauce sticks around. It works. Thinking about enrolling? Take a tour – better yet, talk to someone who went. I haven’t met a single Boondy grad whose face doesn’t light up when they talk about it.
I had the privilege of attending Boroondara Park Primary School for seven wonderful years, and I can confidently say it shaped me into the person I am today. From the very beginning, the school fostered an environment filled with kindness, support, and inclusivity. Every student was made to feel welcome and valued, no matter their background or abilities.
The teachers and staff go above and beyond to create a positive, nurturing space where learning is exciting and meaningful. Their dedication not only helped me grow academically but also taught me important values like respect, empathy, and teamwork.
I carry fond memories of my time at Boroondara Park and am incredibly grateful for everything the school provided me. I would highly recommend it to any family looking for a caring, inclusive, and high-quality primary education.
Boroondara Park Primary School values imagination, creativity and literacy. And above all, it values that children benefit from reading and having access to books that reflect lifestyles, families, culture, values and different ways of thinking. As a visiting author, it’s been a pleasure to see how this school and its wonderful educators encourage students to lose and find themselves in books, and to write their own sense of identity and ideas too.
We’ve been part of the Boroondara Park Primary School community for 10 incredible years, and it’s hard to believe our time here is coming to an end. We’re forever grateful for the nurturing and inclusive environment that has catered to the unique needs of each of our three children. The school’s commitment to academic excellence is perfectly balanced with a well-rounded education that fosters creativity, physical activity, and personal growth through programs such as PE, music, French, and art.
The BPPS community is truly special – supportive, caring, and welcoming. We love how parent involvement is encouraged, making us feel valued and connected. The Principal, Staff, and Teachers are the heart of the school, going above and beyond to ensure every child thrives. We’ve absolutely loved our journey here and can’t recommend BPPS enough.

We can’t thank Boroondara Park Primary enough for the amazing start they gave both our kids! The teachers were so patient, kind, and genuinely cared about helping them learn and grow, not just in class, but as little people too. The school always felt like a welcoming community, and our kids loved going every day. From fun activities to the extra support when needed, BPPS made their primary years happy and full of great memories. We’d recommend it to any family in a heartbeat!
Boroondara is a gem of a primary school that boasts huge open areas where everyone can play and is welcome. It’s truly a great place to be a kid. I joined the school in Grade 3, and the impressions left on me by my teachers are memories that I took with me well into my teenage years and even beyond, as an adult now in university. I’m not the only one, either. For years, during my primary schooling, I would see alumni return through our iconic fairs and volunteer to support the wider community.
Amidst all the chaos of the digital world, Boroondara Park was truly a place that offered it all to students: leadership opportunities, sport, music (productions with the absolute legend – Miss Poor), arts and crafts, languages, and yes, academics. The reality is that these things are no longer as accessible in other schools. However, these were opportunities that were offered to me, which forever changed my life.
It was at Boroondara that I was introduced to hockey by Mr. Mulder and Mr. King. The experiences and opportunities I have had in the last couple of years all stem from when I was just 10 years old and picked up a stick for the first time. It was then that my Grade 5 classroom teacher, who had a tremendous passion for hockey, told us wicked stories about his own experiences. And so when 7:30 am on a Friday rolled around, there were at least 20 kids (probably more!) each week eager to learn and play some hockey.
Now, 9 years later, I have officiated, coached, captained, and played at State level many times. I am now a member of the committee for my hockey club, where I handle behind-the-scenes operations, manage social media, and oversee marketing for the club. None of this would have happened without the small but significant impressions left on me by my teachers at a school that genuinely cared about producing well-rounded students who would be successful in life… not just academics.
Boroondara Park Primary School was such a great place to grow up. I started in Prep and felt welcomed from the very beginning. The teachers really cared about us. Mr Bramham made a big impact on me. He was fun, supportive, and made every day feel exciting. He had a way of making learning feel less like school and more like something you actually wanted to do. Even now in high school, I still think back to those days and realise how lucky I was. The school was just great. It provided us with real opportunities to grow, and many past students return to help out and gain valuable work experience. That tells you everything you need to know.
