An expansive footprint in Balwyn North
A local primary school serving the families of North Balwyn and Bulleen, Boroondara Park is on the lands of the Wurundjeri people. The school has extensive grounds, which provide students with opportunities for a wide range of learning experiences both inside and outside the classroom.
There has been a school on this site since 1954, initially known as Koonung State School, which was renamed in 1956 as Boroondara Primary School. On 1 January 1989, two legacy schools – Boroondara Primary School and Boroondara North Primary School – officially merged to form the present-day Boroondara Park Primary School. The school was joined by Bulleen Primary School students when it closed in 1993.
The core of the current Boroondara Park school facility was opened in January 1993. As of 2024, that means the school has proudly served the community from this site for 70 years.
Modern Facilities Designed for Inspired Learning
In late 2005, redevelopment and extensions to the main building were completed, designed to make the facility even more functional and aesthetically pleasing.
This has provided additional permanent, purpose-designed classrooms, an expansion of the library and extra storage and administrative areas.
In 2010, we were delighted with the completion of our “Building the Education Revolution” project, which included a full-sized basketball stadium and two Performing Arts teaching areas.
Students learn in large classrooms and are supported with extra learning spaces for STEM, Art, PE, Performing Arts and French.
The school is fortunate to boast large grounds and extensive playing areas and our well-maintained playgrounds and expansive space make the school an inviting place for students, teachers and parents.
