Out of School Hours Care
Nurturing and Stimulating OSHC Programs
Quality Out of School Hours Care focused on developing the whole child through enriching and engaging experiences.
TheirCare Focuses on a Whole Child Enrichment Model
At TheirCare, proudly located within Boroondara Park Primary School, we are dedicated to providing a nurturing, stimulating, and thoroughly enjoyable Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) environment for all students. Our comprehensive program encompasses both Before School Care (BSC) and After School Care (ASC), ensuring that every child experiences a strong sense of belonging, feels safe, and has abundant opportunities for growth and fun.
Our service deeply aligns with TheirCare’s overarching philosophy, which centres on a Whole Child Enrichment Model. This means we focus on fostering curiosity, encouraging teamwork, developing leadership skills, and promoting personal growth through engaging, play-based experiences. We operate strictly under the ‘My Time, Our Place’ Framework and consistently uphold the stringent National Quality Standard set by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA), guaranteeing an exceptional and quality service for your family.
What truly sets our Boroondara Park Primary School service apart is our unique program policy, which was authentically co-developed with the children themselves. This collaborative approach ensures that the program truly reflects their voices, ideas, and evolving needs, making TheirCare a place where children are not just participants, but active shapers of their own environment and experiences.
This commitment to a truly child-led program is fundamental to our approach, creating a dynamic space where children feel valued and empowered. We believe this strong partnership between educators and children is key to delivering a memorable and enriching experience every day.
Our Dynamic Curriculum
TheirCare’s curriculum focuses on holistic child development through enriching play and leisure, guided by the ‘My Time, Our Place’ Framework. This child-led program aligns with Boroondara Park Primary School’s belief that every child’s voice matters, shaping activities around their interests.
Programs offer diverse, hands-on experiences, including crafts, art, sports, science experiments, and cooking, which foster creativity and problem-solving skills. These activities contribute to the five ‘My Time, Our Place’ learning outcomes: identity, connection, wellbeing, confidence, and communication. This dynamic, enriching quality service consistently enhances learning and development.
Connecting with our Community
TheirCare at Boroondara Park Primary School is more than just an OSHC service; it’s an integral part of the school community. We actively seek to build strong partnerships with parents, school staff, and the wider Boroondara community. We value open communication, encouraging families to share feedback and contribute ideas that enrich our program.
Our collaboration with BPPS ensures a cohesive approach to supporting children’s wellbeing and learning outcomes. We also look for opportunities to connect with local community initiatives and resources, fostering a sense of belonging and broadening children’s experiences beyond the school gates.
Exceptional Care: Holiday Programs and our Dedicated Team
TheirCare provides comprehensive Holiday Programs and care on Pupil Free Days, operating most weeks of the year for reliability.
These programs offer diverse, engaging activities, maintaining the same high-quality service and child-led approach as regular Before School Care (BSC) and After School Care (ASC) sessions.
The expertise and consistency of the TheirCare team are paramount. Staff are qualified professionals passionate about child development, building trust and understanding individual needs. Staff quality adheres to the National Quality Standard (NQS) and ACECQA oversight, covering Staffing Arrangements and Relationships between Children and Educators.
All staff are trained in first aid and child protection, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and professional environment. This combined offering assures parents of trusted, experienced care during school breaks.
Nutritional Wellbeing
At TheirCare, we understand the importance of healthy eating for growing children.
Our afternoon tea offerings are carefully planned to be nutritious and appealing, adhering to the guidelines provided by Nutrition Australia. We provide a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and dairy options to ensure children receive balanced and energising snacks.
We also use afternoon tea as an opportunity to encourage positive eating habits and discuss healthy choices.
Our commitment to nutritional wellbeing complements the active and engaging environment we provide across our BSC and ASC programs.
